The makeup you choose for your wedding day is important; it’s going to be there on the day of as well as in every photo of the event. We see a lot of brides that stress out about choosing their look for the big day, but it isn’t as difficult as it seems! Here are some of my tips for choosing a wedding day bridal look you’ll love now and for years to come.
DON’T GO TOO TRENDY.
Trends can be fun, but ideally you want to look back in 20 years and not have a “What was I thinking?” moment. Try to avoid super trendy looks. This means that chunky glitter or neon is probably not the best look for your wedding day. But it also means that the super “Instagram” looks of heavy, full coverage foundation and harsh lines are probably also not the best idea for your wedding day look.
STICK WITH WHAT YOU’RE USED TO.
If you’re someone who never wears makeup, a full face is probably not going to be your style. Ditto for a girl who likes to be done makeup all the time, a super natural look probably won’t be your thing. I always recommend being a little more “done up” than usual for your wedding day, but don’t take it as an opportunity to try a completely new style that you’re not sure you’re comfortable with. You want to feel like a really beautiful version of yourself, not a complete stranger.
DON’T SKIP THE TRIAL.
Your trial is the time for you and your makeup artist to determine the exact look you want for your wedding day. We send to many pics of bridal look to my brides that has a ton of inspiration images to get them started thinking about their look. This is a great place to start looking for inspiration for your bridal look. Once at the trial, this will give you an opportunity to see the makeup on yourself and determine what you are comfortable with.
SKIN IS ALWAYS IN.
Having beautiful, glowing skin is never out of style. Focusing on the skin and keeping your makeup fresh faced and natural is my preferred style of makeup for your wedding. You will look gorgeous, fresh, and glow and won’t have to worry about looking at your photos years down the line and seeing something crazy that you completely regret.
